Milwood Property is located on one of the most desirable streets in Venice, in Los Angeles, California. It is a 15-minute drive from LAX, the 10 and 405 freeways. Milwood House is an 1850 square foot, 2-level structure, surrounded by a lush garden, with living quarters at ground level and a studio workspace above. Each level of the house can be rented separately, or together as a whole. The house was designed and built by the owner/ architect and has been published in “Inside Outside,” by Linda O’Keeffe. Milwood House consists of two levels, one atop the other, with the upper level turned 90 degrees and cantilevering over the lower. An open plan defines the ground level, with spaces that flow through floor to ceiling walls of glass and fully retractable sliding glass doors to the surrounding garden and linear fountain. The cantilever that defines the second level also forms the ground level outdoor covered patio and a second level roof terrace to its side. In total, the house stands like a pavilion within the confines of the lush garden and borrowed landscape beyond. The house can be accessed from its street at front, and by an alley at the rear of the property. A full security 8-foot-high electric auto gate opens from the alley on to a graveled parking area for 2 cars. 8-foot fencing and access gates surround the remainder of the property.
